Fall Open House – August 20, 2016

This is the twentieth year I have heard Hurricane’s school bells ringing in the late summer days– such a tell-tale sign that it is time to have our Open House.

Our teachers have had the summer to ponder on which classes or projects you may like to do this fall and this is the schedule they came up with. I think they have made some really great decisions for the classes – and their enthusiasm is contagious!! We are all really excited about starting some new projects – especially as we look at so many new fabrics arriving in the shop.  If you haven’t been in this summer – I hope you will be pleasantly surprised at the latest fabrics, books, patterns and notions.  Our traditional Open House Sale will be going on this Saturday, August 20th from 9:00am – 3:00pm .  Fabric will be marked $1.00 per yard off; notions, books and patterns – 20% off; Jellyrolls, Layercakes will be $5.00 off; Charm Packs $1.00/off; Fat Quarters – $2.00 each – pre-cut only. Teachers will be on hand to answer any questions, class signups, and help with your class needs. We hope you can come and be a part of our Open House Event!

Neighbor’s Day – Second Thursday of every month – 9:30am – 3:00pm

Everyone is invited – and encouraged to bring your machine and be involved in filling the needs of our community. This fall we will be making “Fidget Quilts” which will be donated to Alzheimer’s patients.  There is such a huge need for these – and we need all the help we can get to make a difference in as many lives as we can.  Millie has kits cut and supplied with zippers, Velcro, lace, buttons and lots of things to “fidget” with.  Come out and learn more how to make these – then perhaps share with your quilting groups at church or retreats – let’s see how many we can get done this fall!!!!
